Do people somehow imagine that I enjoy being on benefit? That it makes me feel good that I can’t work? That having a boring and pointless life is fun?
Argh.

Argh.
*hugs* I really, really feel for you 😦
The terrible thing about this country is that there are so many Lizzie-Bardsley-like[1] scroungers, that people who genuinely need and deserve help get looked down on for being on benefit. It’s disgusting. If the government would only crack down on people who think the world owes them a living, then genuine people wouldn’t have to put up with being disrespected.
But remember, everyone who knows you knows how frustrated you are at not being able to work. And you certainly don’t have a pointless life, because you are great fun to know, and you can make fabulous music.
It looks like I’m going to have to take incapacity benefit myself, as work have stopped paying me now as I have been off work for over a year. If anyone looks at me as though I’d rather take that than be working and earning 40K a year, they can fuck right off.
Please, please try not to worry 😦

Thanks Toni. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but it is nice to know people who understand and sympathise!
“It looks like I’m going to have to take incapacity benefit myself”
Aww crap 😦
The other crappy thing about all the benefit fraud is that their reaction seems to be to make all the damn forms etc as complex as possible, so that it puts people off. Which is stupid because, let’s face it, people who are defrauding the government are the ones who know how to work the system, so it just makes it loads more difficult for poor schlocks like me.
It makes me so angry when you read about someone getting £30,000 from 6 NI numbers and I had to struggle so damn hard to get my measly benefit that I actually need.
Grr.
Anyway rant over. Thanks! You made me feel better.
